Bardabe Performance Intake Kit for the Evo X

As many of you know and had been very anxious to see what would the proper intake be like on an Evo X would be like? well it is finally here after 3 years of the car hitting the market and the masses not one company was able to produce an intake that kept the fuel trims in check and opened up the cars true potential. so after months of research and development we are now able to proudly say we make the most efficient Intake kit out in the market today! Coming with the Biggest Velocity Stack and Filter available in the market today, along with Precision bent T6-6061 Air Craft Aluminum Intake pipe and Upper Intercooler Pipe. Bead rolled, Silicone Couplers, and Stainless Steel T-bolt Clamps Boost leaks are a thing of the past, and that flat spot on the car at high RPM’s is now a thing of the past as well. we took a minute and did some base line pulls on 1 2010 100% Stock GSR. and 1 2010 GSR with a Drop in Filter and turbo inlet pipe. the results where an awesome achievement over the factory air box and intake pipe.

so here we start the day of the Evo X Dyno days. first to build up some anticipation we started off with a RG Red 2010 GSR mods where a K&N Drop in Filter freshly cleaned few weeks before the dyno event. we strapped the car down. Naji From Looney Tunning made his way over as he is a Tuning Junkie and just can’t get enough of making cars go fast, run safer, and smoother seeing that he has always wanted a consistent intake that keeps the Fuel trims in check to offer to his customers for better tunning results and power gains he wanted to see what the BP would do. so hr brought out all his gear and set all cars to Mode 23 so we could datalog them and see what it would be like. before and after the Intake Kit.

and so we moved on to do the baseline pulls, base lines where made and the car was too quiet for that so we moved on to the good stuff tearing it down! Chris couldn’t wait to have his Bright Yellow Intake installed so he decided to join the fun in installing the intake on a car that is at operating temperatures on 104* weather. inside the shop it was more like 112* or so lol.

So once the rollers stoped, we started working

Here is Juan taking off the Nose Pannel.

Boom! All taken apart, preparing the new parts to go in.

Everything getting adjusted and tightened down.

All Done and ready for the gains. we followed to start it up, get it back up to Operating temperature and have naji do some base logs of the LTFT’s  once those checked out and everything was in check we followed to do the Dyno Pulls. to see the gains. now it was 104* outside temperatures inside the Dyno Room where even worse so it wasn’t exactly the Ideal Dyno Conditions. but hey I’m on for a challenge if my parts fall on their face in the heat then I don’t have a reason to be proud.

and just as expected, the lean spool on the Evo X SUCKS! the car hadn’t had time to learn it’s new modification so pre spool we had some knock in this 112* Dyno room Boost came on allot faster so the car pinged and near redline we encountered the same problem it was just too hot yet we still saw an amazing 35HP Gain in the power band!!! Chris was amazed and ecstatic. he could not wait to drive his car on normal driving conditions to feel the new parts working and the gains on the new power band.

so we pulled the first car off the Dyno and started loading up the second one, the real test a 100% Stock 2010 GSR. sadly it was now 107* Outside and inside the dyno room was hell. but being we had driven 100+ miles to access a 4WD Dyno Dynamics Dyno. (load test not free wheeling like a Dyno Jet) we proceeded to test it. strapped the car down and get to business.

Naji set up Mode 23 to log the car to keep track of knock AFR FT’s and so on. and we set off to doing the Base line Dyno Pulls. once we got all 3 In, we set off on the adventure of installing the intake kit. this time however Naji wanted to be part of the fun to see how easy this thing is to install. and well to his surprise very simple!

before we started the new intake kit on the 2nd car i decided to let my lunch cook off the wing on my personal car. just to give you guys an idea of how hot it is outside. the sandwich was cold from from a sub shop here in Chatsworth.

and then the tear down began! Naji Myself and Reggie installing this one.

sometimes the mitsubishi couplers can be stubborn.

Lining everything up before the final tightening of  the clamps

All Done!

Looney Tunes Aproved! TADA!!!!

and with the intake installed and ready to roll, I decided to go check up on my lunch, hmm

To give you guys how hot it was, this thing went from cold, to Evo X Wing Top Toasted. cheese melted, bred crispy and everything.

while I ate my Sammich, Naji proceeded to Logging while i ate and find some results.

Wow would you look at that! on a bone stock Evo X we see 40WHP and 25ft/lb torque gain! in 105*+ Weather!!!! you guys can only imagine what this thing can do on a Tunned car in proper road situation.  so now the BP Intake it is proven even on the Dyno, we have real world HP Gains, nothing fake or “About” the Bardabe Performance Intake kit is good for 40WHP and 30ft/lbs of torque at the wheels by red line no more flat lining, no more Fuel Trims that go off the charts, no more SES Lights for Fuel trims.

now for random shots of the dyno day,

I Swear im not shrot, Naji is just really tall.

everyone swarming in on the Dyno Chart after the first pull lol

world domination is our secret plan

Well you see, this kit works, your car was falling in it’s face before now it’s not. even heat soaked the kit performs better!

the face of a man who just found out his car knocks so bad he will need a tune very soon.

We’re good!!!

and with this i will conclude this article. I would like to thank everyone who came out and showed your support for not only for Me and my Company but for the Import and Car Community. days and times like this remind me time and time again why i chose to do what i do, and why Bardabe Performance is what it is today! without Enthusiast, friends, and Customers like i have today i have no idea where my company would be today. look forward to many years of celebration, quality parts and service, and memories like this.
